It’s Good Enough

Some new moms over do it. Reading that tenth bedtime story, grinding our own peanut butter and killing ourselves to teach little Timmy his abc’s before he’s weaned. We wear ourselves out trying to live up to nose-bleed high, self-imposed expectations. Stop it! We’re making ourselves crazy! One story instead of ten is good enough. And as long as they can read well before they get to junior high, it’s good enough. Instead of stressing about being better or even the best, think about what we’re really put here for…to teach our kids in the way they should go. Relax. Enjoy your children. Make mud pies together. I really don’t think God cares whether or not we grind our own peanut butter.
